A preliminary review of the 90 nominated works, comprising 29 films, 26 TV series, 20 documentaries and 15 animations, reveals three key features: extensive geographical area, excellent production and diverse themes. The Golden Panda Awards has received works from 104 countries and regions, and among the 90 nominated works, 53 are from overseas, accounting for nearly 60 percent.

The nominees are all excellent works from around the world, including Chinese film "The Wandering Earth 2,” the Chinese TV series "A Lifelong Journey,” American movie "Jojo Rabbit" and other works that have gained international popularity in recent years. Themes of these works vary from promoting peace and anti-war to traditional culture and environmental protection.

The jury panel of the Golden Panda Awards is composed of professional members from around the world. At least 40 percent of the jurors are artists from overseas. Zhang Yimou, an internationally renowned director from China, will be president of the jury.

A total of 90 works from 104 countries and regions have been nominated.

"Our Panda" Global Graphics and Short Videos Collection and Exhibition calls on all panda lovers to share their stories about pandas through vlogs, online lectures, web audio videos, overseas platform challenges, and image or text.

"Our Panda" aims to showcase the diverse perspectives of "panda" as seen through different eyes, and since its launch, over 50,000 video and graphic works from home and abroad have been submitted. These works will be broadcast online in September.

The review of works is divided into two stages: preliminary review and final review. After the preliminary review, a total of 90 works have been nominated. The themes and contents of the nominated works are rich and varied, including British film "The Father," American TV series "Your Honor," Indian film "Last Film Show" and Iranian TV series "Yadoo."

The logo, mascot and trophy of the Golden Panda Awards were released at the press conference.

The first Golden Panda Awards will attract numerous global film and television organization representatives, directors, actors and cultural experts. Among them are household names like Jackie Chan, Emmy Award winner Wang Zongxian and well-known directors from Asia, Latin America, the Middle East and other regions.

The organizing committee has solicited works from around the world through open and targeted calls. With a total of 7,024 works from 104 countries and regions submitted, 4,927 are from overseas, accounting for 70 percent.

The Golden Panda Night will feature a welcome reception for guests during which they can take part in an immersive Chinese cultural experience.

The Golden Panda Awards Ceremony will include the announcement of the winners as well as the commending and promoting of award-winning works, producers and industry leaders.

At the Golden Panda Forum, a summit forum and four expert forums will be held. Industry and academic leaders will be invited to have an in-depth exchange of ideas and build consensus. The theme of the summit forum is "Coexistence and Development of Civilizations: Diversity, Equality and Inclusiveness.”

The first Golden Panda Awards features three key activities: the "Golden Panda Night," the "Golden Panda Forum" and the "Golden Panda Awards Ceremony," together with three side activities: "Face to face with pandas," "Let's watch movies together" and "Discover the world with the panda."

The first Golden Panda Awards features a total of 25 awards across four categories: film, TV drama, animation and documentary.

There will be nine awards for film achievements including Best Picture and Best Director, nine TV Drama awards featuring Best TV Drama and Best Screenplay, four awards to honor documentaries and three awards for animations.
